The Studio

An architecturally designed self contained garden studio is situated on the north side of the house. This contemporary designed building is a very high quality structure built to the same standards as a timberframe house.

In keeping with the surrounding buildings, it is also clad in larch. It had a high degree of insulation with insulated floors, walls and roofs exceeding the current u-values for domestic houses. It has its own power supply, and sockets. It is fitted with Internal and external down lighters and UFO lights.

A lovely feature of the studio is its large entrance door or what is knows as a ‘sliding glass wall’. This door and the large ceiling to floor windows give the studio a lovely light filled airy ambiance and also makes use of any solar gain. A small low wattage, wall mounted panel heater is all that is needed to heat the studio.

The door and windows in the studio are of the highest quality available. They are double glazed u1.4k Scandanavian pine with external aluminium cladding.

A large external larch deck area surrounds the studio.
